Elves can live forever and can only die by violence, but most choose, at a very old age to set sail for The Isle of Last Goodbyes in search of the mystical Isle of Evermor.įrostlings are a race of small, nomadic humanoids that dwell in the cold northern regions. Although somewhat slimmer than Humans, their lean, muscular limbs give them great agility and speed.

Aside from their pointed ears and thin facial features, Elves look very similar to Humans. Dwarves harbor a deep respect for the earth and rock, stable things that stand the test of time.Įlves are a thin, fragile-looking folk who typically dwell deep within the forest. They usually live in elaborate underground cities, built beneath mountains, but can adapt to almost any climate. Most Dark Elves have a dark gray-green complexion with white or silver hair.ĭwarves are small, stocky humanoids known for their industriousness and tenacity in battle. After only a few generations, they began adapting to the darkness and disliking the sunlight. Although they were once part of the Elven community that walks in the glow of the sun, they choose now to live underground. They prefer to live in darkness, hidden from the sun's revealing rays. Their religious zeal makes them particularly aggressive and fanatic.ĭark Elves are the evil counterparts of normal Elves.

Azracs wear minimal clothing and disdain heavy armor. What little hair they have on their bodies they usually shave. They are, in many ways, similar to Humans. The Azracs are an aggressive, desert-dwelling race. Units and cities may respond in friendly or in hostile ways to leaders, depending on the race relations between them. A hero's race determines some of their starting abilities and stats. Units of the same race often have similar abilities and stats. Each race has their own cities which produce their own units. There are twelve races in Age of Wonders I.
